If you have been on the fence about giving up $100 large to Apple for a .Mac account, you may want to reconsider if you are constantly on the go and in need of wireless net access. Through June 29, 2005, if you sign up for a .Mac account, you will also receive a free 30 day trial of the T-Mobile Hotspot service. Not too bad when you consider that a month of Hotspot access would cost you $39.95 in the first place. Of course, more and more free hotspots seem to sprout up each day, but who am I to judge?

PSP UMD Movie Preorders On The Cheap

Good news for all of you that want to use your PSP as more than just a video game device. Sure, the unit comes with the Spider-Man 2 UMD disc - but the others are said to be quite expensive. If you want to grab a few more UMD’s at a relatively inexpensive price, head on over to Amazon. You can grab movies like XXX, Hellboy, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and more for under $14 USD. Not sure how long this one will last, so get on it quick.

AMD slashed the prices on some of their chips today following the introduction the new Opteron server chips. Some chips saw price cuts of up to 35 percent. The two most notable drops belong to the Athlon 64 3800 and 3700+ processors which have been made popular by many a PC gamer. These chips were lowered by 34 percent and 30 percent respectively. If you are in the market for one of these chips or thinking of upgrading, now is your chance to get high performance at a lower cost.

Well, that was certainly quick. If you weren’t one of the ones that felt the need to preorder the Mac mini the second it was announced, you are in luck if you were thinking of buying one with some Apple customized features. After less than a week at retail, Apple has lowered the price for the WiFi, Bluetooth, hard drive and RAM add-ons. For example, you can now get both integrated Bluetooth and AirPort Extreme for a cool $99, or a 512 MB RAM upgrade for $75. Now, yesterday they had also bumped up the speed of the Superdrive from 4x to 8x - but when I looked again today, it was back to 4x. Why must you toy with us, Apple? Why?
